Speeches & Tributes

This page focuses on my eulogy delivery service, however, I also deliver speeches and readings for any occasion. If you’d like to know more, feel free to get in touch.

Celebration of Life - Eulogy Delivery

When someone we love passes away, expressing the right words to say goodbye can often feel overwhelming at first. A celebration of life provides the opportunity to reflect on their character, cherished stories, favourite memories, and the most meaningful moments in their life. It's a lovely way to bring everyone together in laughter and tears and to help everyone in their grief. While crafting a beautiful eulogy is important, sometimes delivering those heartfelt words can feel like a daunting task. That’s where I provide support.

As an experienced and compassionate celebrant based in Teesside, in the North East, I can deliver your family's eulogy on your behalf, allowing you to focus on supporting one another, remembering your loved one, and sharing the moments that matter most.

A compassionate voice for your family’s words; I can share your loved ones story with warmth, dignity, and sensitivity, ensuring it's shared exactly as you intend.

Your Words, Your Memories, Their Story

No one knows your loved one as you do. That’s why your family remains at the centre of the eulogy. Family support and collaboration is so incredibly important in difficult times and it can really help the grieving process to come together in creating a eulogy.

Rather than writing your loved one’s story for you, I guide families to gather together to craft a eulogy that reflects their shared memories, stories, and sentiments. There might be several contributors involved, or perhaps one main writer, while others provide their own heartfelt messages.

I'll work closely with you to ensure the final delivery captures the essence of your loved one - conveyed with the warmth, respect, and sensitivity it deserves.

More than Just Eulogy Delivery

My involvement in the celebration of life can be as extensive as you need.

Here’s what I can offer:

  • Gentle guidance and support as you prepare for the celebration.

  • Help in selecting suitable poems or readings that resonate with your loved one.

  • Suggestions for music to enhance moments of reflection.

  • Reading words or memories from family and friends.

  • Supporting those who may feel nervous or overwhelmed about speaking.

  • Adapting to any changes or requests on the day to ensure everything flows smoothly.

  • Making announcements, a toast, leading silent reflection

  • Feel free to let me know any other way I may be able to support you

Creating Space for the Family

There’s something profoundly meaningful about coming together in the days leading up to a celebration of life to craft the eulogy. Sharing stories, reminiscing about joyous moments, and selecting the words that truly reflect your loved one can provide families with a positive focus and purpose during such a challenging time.

When the day arrives, you can trust that I’ll be there to deliver your words with empathy and composure, ensuring your loved one’s story is shared exactly as you want it to be.

Personal Touches

The smallest details can add really meaningful, personal touches to a celebration of life. Whether it’s selecting a specific song that evokes fond memories, choosing a poem that captures their spirit, or incorporating moments of reflection, I’ll work with you to make those moments feel genuine and fulfilling.

There’s no standardised way to say goodbye - only your way - the way that feels just right for you and your family.

A Calm and Supportive Presence

Grief affects everyone differently. Some may want to speak, while others may struggle to find their voice. I understand that emotions can run high, and plans may change at the last moment. I’m here to offer kindness and support without judgment, ready to step in should anyone need a moment to gather themselves.

I offer my services for eulogy delivery and celebration-of-life support throughout Teesside and the wider North East, including areas like Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Darlington, Redcar, Yarm, Stokesley, and beyond.

Music

Think about music that is really meaningful to you as a family. Music that reminds you of your loved one. Maybe there is a favourite song of theirs that you'd like to include or music from their favourite band or movie. Whether it’s live or recorded, it can really help you to celebrate them, reflect on their personality and bring back fond memories. It could be a piece of music that reminds you of a special time together. You might like to embrace some of their all-time favourite tunes, ones you’ve enjoyed together over the years - it's a great way to reflect and cherish some happy memories. If you choose to include recorded music then be sure to put a competent, trusted person in charge of operating the sound system. If this is an issue, I have also been asked to play music through my phone into a microphone, which i'm completely happy to do - it worked just as well. If you like the idea of live music - maybe there is someone you know who might like to sing or play for you. I am also a singer and can offer that service should you wish. I sang, "Ave Maria" at a celebration of life last year and I've also lead family and friends in a sing-alongs too. Have a think about the tone you want and how you want to feel - do you want it to be uplifting, amusing, a moment of reflection or an opportunity to really let out those difficult emotions. Whatever you choose - remember - music really does speak straight to the heart.
